The Huntsville Times will begin publishing a new weekly special section with features on Limestone County. They plan to kick off that section, to be called Limestone Spirit, on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

For that section, they would like Limestone residents to submit photos (kids sports, community events, feature shots from around the county, etc., whatever they'd like to submit) and news items (new business openings, school events, civic events, fundraisers, youth league signups, you name it).

To submit photos or articles, visit www.al.com/limestone and upload pictures and news items?

Contact: Shelly Haskins, City Editor, The Huntsville Times, 532-4424.

Let's spread the word about our wonderful Limestone County.

Confederate Soldier

This statue stands on the Northeast corner of our wonderful courthouse. Visit the square to see it! We are so proud of our heritage and landmarks like this are marked with great signs that talk about Athens history. All around the square are "stations" that show old photos of our town that allow you too look around and compare the photos to what we have now. They're awesome!
